Harry J. "Skip" Constable, Jr., 85, of Walton died at his home on Sunday, October 2, 2016. Skip was married 55 years to his beloved wife Jean Johnson Constable who pre-deceased him January 20, 2016.

Skip was born on April 2, 1931 in Middletown, NY, the son of the late Harry and Flora (Boyce) Constable. He was a graduate of Walton High School. On November 12, 1960 he married the former Jean Johnson of Downsville.

Skip was a warm, friendly man with a great sense of humor. A self-employed farmer, he ran Sunlea Dairy Farm for many years. In his earlier years he was a construction worker on the Cannonsville Reservoir, and traveled throughout Delaware County as a milk tester for DHIA. He is a former committeeman for Walton Agway Cooperative and a member of the Holstein Fresian Association, Walton Grange and the Apex Hunting Club. He served as president of Walton CO-OP Fire Insurance for many years. Skip was an avid deer hunter and enjoyed several elk hunting trips to Colorado. He also enjoyed woodworking and made numerous clocks, lamps and tables for family members, while continuing to cut bluestone from his quarry well into his 80s.

Skip is survived by his loving family: his children Gary (Pam Brizzee) Constable of Walton; James (Deb) Constable of Sidney Center; Suzanne (Vern) Hartman of Tannersville; Sharon (John) Waters of Saugerties; Burt (Brittany) Constable of Walton; Michael (Jennifer) Constable of Hamden; grandchildren Melissa (Tim) Robinson, Kathy (Curt) Todd, Darryl Constable, Molly Constable, Kristin (Owen) Perks, Kelly (Tilyr) Dunklow, Eric Waters, Chad, Curtis, Kyle, Chasidy, Jacob and Kylie Constable; great-grandchildren Logan, Caleb, Ciera, Hayden, Devin and Karygyn; sister Alice (Ralph) Taylor of Walton; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his grandson, Harrison Jacob Constable.

A graveside service will be held on Sunday, October 9th at 1pm at Ouleout Cemetery, Franklin, NY. A gathering of family and friends will be held at the farm following the service.
