Harry L. Tietjen, 70, a lifelong resident of Walton passed away on Thursday evening, September 24, 2015 at home, following a long illness.

Harry was born March 16, 1945 in Walton the son of the late Harry W. and the late Eva (Pratt) Tietjen. On July 4, 1981 he married the former Deana Phoenix. He was a graduate of Walton Central School and Barber School in Schenectady.

Harry was a Barber for many years owning Harry's Barber Shop in Walton. He was a member of the New Hope Community Church, Club Royale Oasis, and the Walton Cruisers. He loved spending time with his family and enjoyed his dogs, Sid and Ceasar. He enjoyed bowling, being the President of 3 leagues. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching NASCAR, and was a Dallas Cowboys fan.

Harry is survived by his loving family, his wife, Deana, his children, Lori Sue (Paul) Barnes of Susquehanna, PA, Dana M Tietjen-Rice of Walton, NY, Michael Cecil (Bobbi Jo) Stone of Downsville, NY, Angela (David) Netoskie of Albany, NY, his grandchildren, Erik, Gabriel, Hannah, Cody, Derek, Hunter, Elisa, great grandson, Grayson, his brother and sister in law, Albro and Barbara Tietjen of Walton, his special cousin, Steve and Beth Covell of Henderson, NC, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Family and friends are invited to call on Sunday September 27, 2015 from 2 to 3:30PM at New Hope Community Church, 45 Stockton Ave., Walton, NY where services will be held at 3:30PM with Rev. Larry Light officiating. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
