Harvey T. Johnston, 86, of Walton passed away Friday, August 29, 2014 at N.Y. State Veterans Home in Oxford, NY. Harvey was born June 27, 1928 in Hancock, NY. He is the son of the late Harvey T. and Edith M. (Wormuth) Johnston.

He proudly served our country in the United States Army during the Korean War from 1948 to 1952. At his time of retirement, Harvey was employed by the Village of Walton where he worked as a truck driver.

Harvey enjoyed watching high school sports from any of the areas schools. Harvey loved the game of baseball and played town team ball for many years. He was also an avid fisherman. Harvey was often found socializing with his many friends at TA's Place and The Country Store.

He is survived by his loving family, his children; Toni (Frank) Wood of Walton, Gary Johnston of FL., and Beth Eden of NC, grandchildren; Brett (Crystal) Wood of Walton, Cody Wood & Julia Ricci of Merchantville, NJ, Logan (Taylor) Wood of Walton, Trent Wood & Maggie Kuebler of Walton, and Brennan Wood of Walton; great-grandchildren; Rylee, Adalyn and Brantley, brother; William (Veronica) Johnston of Sidney, and his sister; Doris Ferrara of Sidney. Harvey also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends.

Harvey is predeceased by his son; Randy Johnston, his brother; Roscoe Johnston, his sister; Charlotte McCabe and a special friend Patricia Hodges.

A burial with full Military Honors will take place at Riverview Cemetery in Hancock, NY at the convenience of his family.
