Helen (Sergio) Harrington Hoyt, 90, a long time resident of Walton, passed away early Tuesday morning, December 29, 2009 at Countryside Care Center of Delhi.

On June 17, 1919 Helen was born in Walton, the daughter of the late Ralph and Mariangela (Vozzi) Sergio. She was a graduate of Walton High School. On November 23, 1939 she married Walter A. Harrington at the Walton United Methodist Church. He died on December 7, 1949. In 1960 she married Glenn T. Hoyt of Sidney Center. He died in 1971.

Helen was employed for many years, first at Delaware Valley Hospital, responsible for admissions, discharges, credit and collections. She later worked for the Walton Medical Group, as a secretary. Helen was active in the community. She was a member of the Walton United Methodist Church and its Women's Society, Walton-Downsville Eastern Star since 1947, Walton VFW Ladies Auxiliary, Board of Directors, Delaware County Alcohol and Drug Abuse Council and a volunteer for the Delaware Valley Hospital Auxiliary.

Helen is survived by 2 daughters, Pat Harrington, Toluca Lake, California, Bonnie Kemp, Walton, a stepson, Dale Hoyt, Sidney; 2 granddaughters, Karen Kemp, Kate Harrington, 1 grandson, Chris Kemp, 2 greatgrandchildren, Jonathan Kemp and Brianne Kemp, 2 sisters, Dolly (Patsy) Liguori, Walton; Mary Gage, Colorado Springs, CO; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a daughter, Mary N. Harrington in 1992, and 4 brothers, John, Joseph, James, and Louis Sergio.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, May 14, 2010 at Walton Cemetery.
