Helen Titch Nichols, passed away, at 101, peacefully in her sleep August 8, 2025. She is now in Heaven dancing with Hanford, the love of her life, who has been waiting 20 years for her.

Helen was born, on May 22, 1924, a twin, at the family home on Beech Hill, in Shavertown. She graduated from Andes High School during the war. After marriage she and Hanford had a dairy farm up Freer Hollow, in the town of Walton.

She loved her family and loved to dance, could feed a crowd from whatever she had on hand, opened her heart and home to whoever needed it, always had a huge smile, was full of mischief, loved our Lord and Savior encouraging all to pray, and avid hunter who traipsed many of the hills in Delaware County with Hanford.

She is survived by her children: Susan Nichols, Harry Nichols (Ruth), Allen Nichols (Fran), and Margaret Zoucha (Bill), and a special nephew, Jimmy Stevens.

Grandchildren: Kevin Sanford, Scott Sanford, Angela Felter, Danny Wood, Carleen Merckle, Adam Nichols, Matthew Nichols, Jody Nebesnik, Kristie James, Nichole Valentine, Whitney Zoucha, and 24 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren.

Calling hours will be at Courtney Funeral Home in Walton on Monday evening August 11th, from 6:00-8:00PM. We will have a celebration of her amazing life at a later date.

Graveside service will be Wednesday August 13, 2025 at the Walton Cemetery at 11am, for immediate family only.

The family would especially like to thank her wonderful caregivers Angela and Shawn Felter, who graciously opened their home to her these past years, and the caring people of Hospice.
