IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Helen
Pratti
November 3, 1939 – April 29, 2025
Helen Pratti, 85, of Clifton Park, formally of Walton NY, passed away on April 29, 2025, at Schuyler Ridge Residential Healthcare in Clifton Park NY after a long battle with Parkinson's.
Born November 3, 1939, in Brooklyn, she was the daughter of the late Bertha and James Haugland and wife of the late Louis Pratti. She was also predeceased by her 4 sisters and sister-in-law and brother-in-law Barbara and Paul Pratti.
Helen was a long-time resident of Walton, NY, then spent several years in Sidney NY before moving to Schuyler Ridge. Helen, with her husband Louis, ran a small grocery store and deli, Pratti's Market for 15 years. She also worked for Delaware County at the mental health clinic and the hospital. One of her passions was to be creative and this was shown through her work with cake decorating and chocolate making at Pratti's Market, her work with the Religious Awards Program for Catholic Scouts and her offering of a local "Dear Santa" letter program in Walton. She also had a love of scrapbooking and playing bingo. Another passion of Helen's was genealogy. She found much fulfillment and joy in helping families locate a loved one and learn of their ancestors.
Left to cherish her memory are: her loving daughter, Rose Pratti (Steve Shafts) of Mechanicville, her son, Mario Pratti of Massena, grandchildren Robert Tabone (Kara) of Clifton Park and Amalia Pratti of Massena, sister-in laws Anne Pratti and Mary Rose Pratti of Brooklyn, step grandchildren Leah Spina (Joe) of Colonie and Michael Shafts (Heather) of Brunswick, 4 great grandchildren, several nephews and a niece and her close friends Doreen and Karen.
The family wishes to give sincere and gracious thanks to the caring staff at Schuyler Ridge Residential Healthcare and The Community Hospice of Saratoga. Their compassion and kindness were very much appreciated and made a difference in Helen's final life journey.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30am on Friday May 2, 2025, at St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, 25 Benton Ave, Walton. Interment will follow at Walton Cemetery. There will be no calling hours.
