Herman A. Boice, 87 a lifelong resident of Walton, passed away Monday morning, May 11, 2009 in the Fox Hospital Nursing Home, Oneonta.

Herman was born in Walton, on May 21, 1921 the son of the late Alfred and Florence (Nichols) Boice. He was educated in Walton Schools and married the former Iva Gabriel. She died on January 12, 2008. Herman owned and operated the family farm, and also was employed by S.J. Bailey's, Walton. He was a faithful member of the Pines Brook Baptist Church.

Herman is survived by two daughters: Camilla (Jon) Gifford of Lexington Park, Maryland; Teresa (Mike) Chiano of McGraw, NY; two sons: Erric (Deb) Boice of Walton, NY, Larry "PJ" Boice of Antioch, California, 11 grandchildren, Nanette, Darlene, Keith, Jeremy, Nicholas, Shane, Jared, Ryan, Shallon, Shantell, Shamala, 9 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a son, Keith Jacob Boice in 1955.

Friends and relatives are invited to call on Sunday afternoon, May 17, 2009 from 2 to 3 PM at the Pines Brook Baptist Church, , Walton, where services will be held at 3 PM with the Rev. Carl Butler, officiating.
