Hilda Florence Ewain passed away peacefully in her sleep on December 5, 2020, just eight days shy of her 99th birthday.

She was born December 13, 1921 in RockRoyal, N.Y., the daughter of the late Charles and Florence (Walley) Webb.

Hilda married Stanley (Pete) Ewain on July 13, 1940. She ran the family farm in Sidney Center until her retirement.

She was "one of a kind", a farm girl through and through. Fun to her was being outside, taking care of her animals, driving tractors, and putting in hay. Hilda embraced hard work and appreciated what God gave her. She could make the "best apple pie" with no recipe in sight. After retiring, Hilda enjoyed going to square dances on Saturday nights and listening to country music.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Stanley in 1977; infant son Frank; brother, Pete Webb; and sister, Jennie Peckham.

Survivors include son and daughter in law, Richard and Janis; special granddaughters Kristin Lynch, Kimberly Burnham (Brian), and Erin Cruikshank(Todd); eight great grandchildren, Sean Lynch, Matthew Lynch, Leah Burnham, Will Burnham, Luke Burnham, Sara Cruikshank, Paige Cruikshank, Claire Cruikshank, who fondly called her "GG"; and sister, Dorothy Brizzee. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A special thank you goes to LA Valleys Loving Care Home in East Branch, where Hilda resided for the last 14 years. Thank you to Lori and other workers for their excellent care and making her a family member.

Per the family's request, there will be no calling hours or special services at this time.

Memorial donations in Hilda's memory may be made to a charity of one's choice.
