Iona Walley 98, a life long resident of the Walton area, passed away Thursday morning, November 22, 2007 in Countryside Care Center, Delhi, after a long illness.

Iona was born in Rock Royal on February 28, 1909, the daughter of the late Hiram and Minnie Mullinex. On November 16, 1927 she married David Walley in Cannonsville. He died on February 29, 1988. Iona was a great cook who loved canning and baking for her family. She also loved to crochet and was an avid reader.

She is survived by a daughter, Doris (Norman) Groat, Walton; 2 sons, Howard Walley, Walton; Marvin (Charlotte) Walley, Walton and Florida; grandchildren, Helen, Iona, Buddy, David, Mary, Lorraine, Tina, Marge, Pat, Eric, several great and great-great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins, and her beloved "granddog", Rufus. .

A graveside service will be held at Walton Cemetery, in the spring of 2008 at a date and time to be announced. There are no calling hours.
