Irva J. "Jayne" Hood, 65 of Walton, passed away Wednesday, July 4, 2007 in Countryside Care Center, Delhi, after a long illness.

Jayne was born in Deposit on January 9, 1942, the daughter of the late Clifford and Lucy (O'Dell) Wood. She was a graduate of Walton Central School. On July 2, 1971 she married Herbert W. Hood. He died on February 18, 2002. She was a member of the Walton Fire Dept. Ladies Auxiliary. Jayne loved crossword puzzles, flowers, soap operas and cooking for her family.

Jayne is survived by her loving family, 2 sons, Randy (Lori) Stone, Brian Hood, 2 daughters, Suann Maler, Sara Gerow, all of Walton, 11 grand children, Cody, Shaylee, Adam, Christina, Tiffany, Brianna, Chelsey, Katlyn, Lucas, Asia, & Dalton, 1 sister, Amelia Francisco, Binghamton, several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by 2 sons at birth, brothers, Percy, Lewis, & Clifford Jr., sisters, Joyce, Arlene, Ida, and Lizzy.

Cremation took place at Hillington Crematory. There are no calling hours.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions in Jayne's memory be sent to Catskill Area Hospice, 1 Birchwood Drive, Oneonta, NY 13820.
