Irvin "Bud" Slight, Jr., 80 of Walton, passed away on Saturday morning, July 4, 2009 at home following a long illness.
Bud was born in Philadelphia, on December 3, 1928 the son of the late Irvin and Mary (Ambler) Slight Sr. He was a graduate of Hatboro High School and several plumbing schools. He was owner/president of Slight Bros. Inc., Elkins Park, Pennsylvania as a master plumber.
Bud was a very friendly man with a dry sense of humor. He enjoyed gardening, bowling and baseball. He was a former member of the Neshaminy of Warwick Presbyterian Church and the W.K. Bray Lodge # 410 F & A M, Hatboro, PA. He proudly served his country in the U.S Army during the Korean War.
Bud is survived by 3 sons, Steve Slight, Allen (Kathy) Slight, Rob (Elsa) Slight, 1 daughter, Patti Slight, grandchildren, Derek, Allison, Kaitlyn, Laura, Leigh (Chris) Erin, Dillon, great grandson, Aiden, sisters, Ginny Snyder, Mary Rubin, brother, Bill Slight, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends and relatives are invited to call on Tuesday, July 7, 2009 from 6 to 8 PM at the Courtney Funeral Home, 25 Townsend St Walton. Funeral services will be held on at 11 AM on Friday, July 10, 2009 at the Neshaminy of Warwick Presbyterian Church. A calling hour will be held from 10 to 11 AM, prior to the service. Interment will follow in Whitemarsh Memorial Park, Ambler, PA, with full military honors.
