Jackie G. Fairchild, 81, of Walton passed away on Monday, October 29, 2018 at Fox Hospital in Oneonta, following a long illness.

Jackie was born on December 7, 1936 in Downsville, the son of the late Stiles and Verna (Davis) Fairchild. On October 2, 1958 he married June Barnes of Walton.

Jackie worked for Walton Central School as a Custodian and owned and operated a Carpet Cleaning business for over 40 years. He was a member of the NRA. He was of the Episcopalian Faith.

Jackie was an avid Sportsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He taught hunter safety classes for many years.

Jackie is survived by his loving family, his wife, June, children, Teresa Fairchild of Walton; Jack (Shannon) Fairchild of Walton; Peggy (Rodney) Carman of Walton; grandchildren, Nathan and Christine, Ashley, Isaac, Jacob, Sarah and Bruce, Timothy, Marissa, Kinley, Jacklyn, Shaun, Kona, Elizabeth, Brittney, Hannah, Rachel, Jaden, Dallas, Marlena, Brandon, Aliya, great grandchildren, Kennedy, Elijah, Cameron, Ashton, Carson, Gabriel, Lucas, Parker, Adalyn, Julius, brother, Charles and Alice Fairchild of Mt. Vision, NY; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his brothers, Douglas, Stanley, Robert Fairchild, and sisters, Charlotte Martin, Jean Seaman, and Ellen Wood.

Family and friends are invited to call on Friday, November 2, 2018 from 10 AM to 12 Noon at the New Hope Community Church, 45 Stockton Avenue, Walton where services will be held at 12 Noon with Pastor Bob Wilkie, officiating.
