James W. Puglisi, 69, of Walton passed away unexpectedly early Friday morning, April 1, 2011 at home. Jim was born on July 22, 1941 in Paterson, NJ, the son of the late William and Carmela (Sabino) Puglisi. He was a graduate of Ramapo HS, Wyckoff, NJ; and Farleigh Dickenson University, Hackensack. On March 27, 1969 he married the former Katherine Reside in Suffern, NY. Jim was employed for many years by Trio Dyeing & Finishing as Head Maintenance Mechanic. He was a resident of Midland Park, NJ for many years and came to Walton on weekends. He finally moved here permanently about 8 years ago.

Jim was devoted to music. He was an accomplished lead guitarist and pedal steel guitar player. He had a wonderful sweet sound and was always experimenting with new sounds. He was a member of the Country Gamblers for many years often playing 3 times a weekend. Jim was a faithful member of the East Branch Community Church. He also enjoyed hunting in his younger years.

Jim is survived by his loving family, his wife, Katherine, his son William (Delia) Puglisi, 3 grandchildren, John, Michael and Edward, his sister, June Russos, NJ, special friends, Joe Villano, Gail and Karl Kauffman Jr., nieces, nephews and cousins.

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Tuesday, April 5, 2011 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM at the Courtney Funeral Home, 25 Townsend St., Walton. The funeral will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, April 6 at the East Branch Community Church, with the Rev. Paul Cicio, officiating. Burial will follow in East Branch Cemetery.
