James Richard, 87, of Walton passed away early Thursday morning, January 21, 2016 at home, following a long illness.

Jim was born on January 16, 1929 in Brooklyn, the son of the late Joseph and Alma (Comeau) Richard. On June 29, 2002 he married the former Ruth Ellen Crommelin at the Northfield Community Church in Walton. He worked for many years at Del-Met as a polisher.

Jim is survived by his loving family, his wife, Ruth, son, Joseph Richard of Walton; a daughter, Denise St. Claire of SC, and three step children, Melanie (Roland) Finch of Sidney Center, Robin Calabrese of Hudson, NY and Ruebin Beard of Vermont plus two foster sons, Bill (Grace) Gilbertsen of Walton, Walt (Toni) Gilbertsen of SC, 1 grandson, Logan ST Claire of PA, 6 step grandchildren, Cherelle Vance of WI, Jonathan Vance of Walton, Tianna Nickelson of Walton, Christian Calabrese of Richfield Springs, Joshua Calabrese of WV and Jeremy Hren of Walton, and a sister, Dorothy Polo of Long Island. Also 7 step great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his first wife in 1991, and his brother, Henry Richard.

A memorial service will he held on Saturday, February 13, 2016 at 6PM at Riverside Alliance Church, 110 Stockton Avenue, Walton with Rev. James Spain, officiating.
