James A. Roach, Sr. 59 of Walton passed away on Sunday, June 4, 2023, at Wilson Memorial Hospital in Johnson City following a long and courageous battle with cancer. Known as 'Jamie' to family and friends and 'Pop' to his grandchildren.
Jamie was born on July 14, 1963, in Stamford, NY, the son of the late James H. and Naomi (Tompkins) Roach and stepmother Maryann Rolph. On January 15, 1983, he married the love of his life Patricia (Walley).
Jamie worked at S. J. Bailey & Sons in Walton for many years and then was a Lead Operator for Saputo Dairy Foods USA in Delhi, New York.
Jamie enjoyed camping, hunting, and fishing. The highlight of his summers was spending time at Black Lake fishing with his family and friends. Jamie was a dedicated family man who enjoyed spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren. Jamie was the life of the party. Birthday celebrations, holidays, and family get-togethers just won't be the same without him.
Jamie is survived by his loving family: wife Patricia; children: Amanda Oliver (Ryan Fletcher) of Sidney, Jeremy (Emily) Roach of Walton, James (Christine Winner) Roach, Jr. of Walton, Tiah (Ruben) Morales of Endwell; grandchildren: Aryanna (Junior), Garret, Aiden, Gabriel, Mackenzie, Robert, Emma, Kylee, Mikel, Alyssa; great grandchild: Selena; special sister: Marlene Downing of FL, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Jamie was predeceased by his parents, stepmother, and brother, Ron Roach; in-laws Marvin and Charlotte Walley.
The Roach family would like to thank Jamie's special friends for all their support over the years: the Wood Family, Young Family, and Saputo Family.
Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the direction of The Courtney Funeral Home, Walton.
