Robinson
October 11, 1920 – March 22, 2006
James L. Robinson 85, went to be with the Lord peacefully on March 22nd 2006 at Delaware Valley Hospital after a long illness.
He was born to Murray and Frederica Robinson in Walton, October 11th 1920.
He was predeceased by his devoted wife of 53 years, Jeanette Holley Robinson, also son in law Dudley Stephens.
Survivors include his wife Doris Allen Robinson who meticulously cared for him over the last few years. Children, John A. Robinson and Arlene Bradtke of Walton, Gail McNee, and husband Jeff of Walton; Mary Eggelton, and husband Frank of Walton; and Linda Yawn, and Shawn Edwards of Douglasville, GA. Grandchildren Michael Doig, and wife, Raquel of Walton, Casey McNee of Walton, Daniel Stephens of Candler, NC, Stephanie Wheeler, and husband Chris of Walton, Kristina McAteer, and husband Vincent, of Warwick, RI, Justin, and Jarred Robinson of Walton, Jessica and Joel Yawn of Douglasville, GA. Great-grandchildren, Chelsey and Courtney Wheeler, Kyle and Grace Doig, Ty Robinson and Lucas Robinson, brother Herbert, and wife Wanita of Norwich, NY, sister Alice Perley, and husband Richard of FL.
Jim was a member of the First Congregational Church of Walton.
He served in WWII in the field artillery division of the Army and was honorably discharged on November 21st 1945 , to be with his wife and start his family.
He loved his 4 children dearly and got much enjoyment from them. Jim was a hardworking man, always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need.
He ran the family business of Real Estate and Insurance for over 30 years, which his father Murray Robinson had started in 1908.
He was an avid Outdoorsman enjoying Maple Sugaring, fishing, hunting, having picnics at his camp, with his family, and he also enjoyed logging their property with the help of his brother Herb. In his younger years he enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson. In more recent years he enjoyed aviation through flying his own plane.
As per his request he would like to invite friends to join the family at a graveside service,
Sunday March 26th at 2PM, at the Walton Cemetery, with the Rev. Jennifer Matison Juliano, officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to the First Congregational Church, 4 Mead St. Walton, or the American Heart Association, PO Box 3049, Syracuse, NY 13838..
Arrangements are under the direction of Clark, Winter & Courtney Funeral Home, Walton.
