James Lauren Worden, 93, of DeLancey passed away at home on Sunday, June 23, 2013.

He was born in Andes, NY. After graduating high school and Delhi Tech he enlisted in the US Army, serving during WW II in the Pacific Theatre. He married the former Patricia Holley who predeceased him in May of this year.

Jim worked as a farmer, truck driver, and construction worker. His final occupation was that of Rural Letter Carrier. He is remembered by the children of his route for handing out caramels with the mail.

His interests included hunting, fishing, gardening, and cutting and splitting fire wood. He was still splitting wood at the age of 93.

He is survived by his four children, Linda Bacon and Howard of Sterling, N.Y. , Lorna Becker and Gary of Endicott, N.Y., James R. Worden and Lisa of Delhi, N.Y., and Barbara Fuller and Richard of Taylors, S.C. He was proud to be "Pop-pop" to eleven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

His Memorial Service will be scheduled at a later date.
