Janet B. Gregory, 81, a longtime resident of Walton passed away on Thursday, November 2, 2017 at home, surrounded by her family.

Janet was born on July 31, 1936 in Margaretville, NY the daughter of the late David and Irene (Barber) Birdsall. She graduated from Walton Central School the Class of 1954. On November 4, 1956 she married Carl E. Gregory at the United Presbyterian Church in Walton.

Janet was a Bus Driver for Walton Central School for 31 years. She was also a farm wife helping Carl run the farm. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, baking cakes for just about any occasion, and going to square dances on Saturday nights. She also enjoyed caring for her Beloved Dog, Riley.

Janet is survived by her loving family, her husband, Carl, children, Cathy (Don) Scofield of Walton; Betty (Wes) Brundege of Walton; Wayne (Shelley) Gregory of Spartensburg, SC; Jim (Michele) Gregory of Sidney Center, NY; and Jerry Gregory of Walton, NY; grandchildren, Marie, Jason and Becky, Eric and Meghan, Alan, Brad, Stephanie, Wayne Jr. ("Hig") (Amy), Geoffrey (Andrea), Tiffany, Derek, Kenzie, Renee', Aiden, great grandchildren, Alexa, Madison, Logan, Noah, Paisley, Hayden, Annie-Kate, Oliver, sisters, Helen Edwards, Patricia Howe and Karen Gilmore, brother in law, Bruce Gregory, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. The family would like to acknowledge the great care Janet received from Carla Green and Elyn Brundege.

Family and friends are invited to call on Sunday, November 5, 2017 from 3 to 6 PM at the Courtney Funeral Home, 25 Townsend Street, Walton where services will be held on Monday, November 6, 2017 at 11 AM with Pastor Bob Wilkie, officiating. Burial will follow in the Walton Cemetery.
