Jay E. Covell, 49, of Walton passed away Monday evening, August 27, 2012 at Strong Memorial Hospital of Rochester, following a long illness.

Jay was born on March 5, 1963 in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Alan and Enid (Bobis) Covell. He married the former Ellen Kreese on November 18, 1986 at East Northport, NY. Jay was employed for many years as a carpenter.

He enjoyed hiking, handball,smoking cigars and watching movies. He also enjoyed collecting baseball cards.

Jay is survived by his wife, Ellen, his daughter, Courtney Covell, one son and daughter-in-law-: Alex & Cari Covell, all of Walton; his mother Enid Covell, Del Ray Beach, Florida; 2 grandchildren, Shayden & Landon; special friend, Robin Wilson, and several cousins.

Friends and relatives are invited to call on Saturday morning, September 1, 2012 from 10 AM to 12 Noon at the Courtney funeral Home, 25 Townsend St., Walton where services will be held at noon. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at 11 AM in Walton Cemetery.
