Jean E. Young, 89, of Walton passed away on Friday, July 10, 2015 at Fox Hospital in Oneonta. Ms. Young was born on February 1, 1926 in Walton, the daughter of the late Page and Mary-Lynn (Armstrong) Mack. In 1947, she married Lynn Young in the First Congregational Church in Walton.

Jean received her education from Hartwick Nursing Seminary where she received a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. She was employed by Patchogue-Medford School District as a School Nurse Teacher and retired in 1989. Jean had a love for the outdoors and animals. She had many dogs, cats and other critters that she treated as her close family.

Jean is survived by her nephew, Glenn Fiorello, of FL, and her very close friends, Kim Bartlett and family, of Walton.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, July 20, 2015 at 1:30PM in the Walton Cemetery, 55 Fancher Avenue, Walton with Pastor Janet Schwengber, officiating.
