Obituary

Jerald A. Hulbert, a lifelong resident of Walton, passed away on Monday, May 17, 2010. He was 69 years old.

Jerry was born on October 6, 1940 to Charles William and Dorothy (Seymour) Hulbert of Walton. He attended and graduated from Walton High School, where he developed a deep appreciation for playing sports that stayed with him long after his education.

Jerry was a self-employed, quarry craftsman for most of his life and enjoyed his work in the outdoors. In fact, those who were closest to him knew that if Jerry wasn't at his house, he could be found in the stone quarry.

Jerry appreciated the simple things in life, like warm weather and reading the newspaper. In addition to playing sports, Jerry enjoyed spending time with his family. A man who valued a hard day's work also knew the importance of family, and he loved nothing more than to eat good food with the ones he was closest to. He will be fondly remembered by his friends and family for the summer barbeques he held in the stone quarry, and the cheese-platter and cooler of soda he would bring to the

Hulbert gatherings every year.

Jerry was one of eight children. He was predeceased by his brother, Carl Hulbert of Walton. He is survived by a brother, Denny and his wife Carol Hulbert of Walton; a brother, Robert and his wife Loretta Hulbert of Walton; a brother, Ronald Hulbert of Walton; a brother, Barry and his wife Mary Hulbert of Ohio; a sister, Nancy and her husband Jerry Constable of Sidney; a sister, Susan and her husband Boyd Respess of North Carolina; and a brother, Kevin Sparling of Virginia. Jerry is remembered by his three children: his daughter, Tammy-Lambrecht Mills and her husband Michael Mills of Bainbridge; a son, Jeremy and his wife Kristena Hulbert of Bainbridge; and a daughter Angela Hulbert of Walton. Jerry had five grandchildren; Nicholas, Makaela, Jocelynn, Lucas, and Owen. He is also remembered by his many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, May 21, 2010 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Courtney Funeral Home, 25 Townsend Street, Walton. A memorial service will follow at 1:00 PM at the funeral home.
