Jeremy Todd Stafford, known by many as “Werm,” passed away unexpectedly on August 3, 2026, at the age of 42.

Born in Sidney, New York, Jeremy later made his home in Walton, where he built a life filled with family, adventure, friendship, and more stories than could ever be told.

Jeremy was never meant to live quietly. He was loud in the best ways, from the engines he loved and the motorcycles he rode to the energy he brought everywhere he went. He was fearless, strong, and always ready to go a little farther, a little faster, and live a little wilder.

But what people will remember most about Werm was the way he made them feel.

He was the life of the party, with a heart of gold and an incredible ability to bring smiles to the faces of everyone around him. His own smile was contagious. Paired with his unmistakable Stafford dimples and infectious laugh, it was nearly impossible not to smile right along with him. He could light up a room simply by being himself, and his presence had a way of turning ordinary moments into memories. Werm was truly unforgettable. To know him was to love him.

If there was something to do, Jeremy did it. He loved motorcycles and everything Harley-Davidson, beautiful skies, fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, four-wheeling, boating, camping, and anything that gave him the feeling of freedom. There simply wasn’t much Jeremy wouldn’t try. But for all the things Jeremy loved in this life, nothing compared to his family.

His children were the greatest love of his life and the part of himself he was most proud of. Jeremy may not have always known how to put everything he felt into words, but there was never any question how deeply he loved them. Through every high, every struggle, and every chapter of his life, that love remained.

Jeremy is survived by his children, Hadassah (Jacob), Cayden, Elijah, and Isaiah, and his beloved grandchildren, Hartlyn and Rustyn Fisher. He is also survived by his mother, Denise Stafford; his father, Jerry (Donna) Stafford; his sister Angela and her daughter, Malaiah; his sister Jamie, her husband Nate, and their children, Kashden and Emory; and countless extended family members and friends who loved him deeply.

Jeremy was preceded in death by his nephew, Kyler, whom his family finds comfort in believing he finally had the chance to meet in Heaven.

Forty-two years was nowhere near enough. But Jeremy’s life will never be measured only in years. It will be measured in the children he loved beyond words, the family he held close, the people he made smile, the adventures he chased, the laughter he shared, and the countless stories that will forever begin with, “Remember when Werm…” He lived boldly. He loved deeply. He made people laugh. He made people smile. And he never believed life was meant to be lived standing still. Now, the sound of a Harley, a loud engine, an open road, a beautiful sky, or a day spent on the water will carry a little more meaning. And somewhere in the memories that come flooding back will be that contagious smile, those unmistakable dimples, his infectious laugh, and the heart of gold behind all of it. Jeremy was wild, fearless, funny, deeply loving, and truly unforgettable. His absence will be felt for a lifetime, but so will his love. Rest easy, Werm. Until we meet again.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at New Hope Church in Walton, New York. Calling hours will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., with a funeral service immediately following. A Celebration of Life luncheon will follow on site, where family and friends are invited to gather, share memories, and celebrate Jeremy’s life.
