Jim I. Grotevant, 54, of Canadensis, died Tuesday, May 25 at Pocono Medical Center in East Stroudsburg. He was the husband of Nancy (Rutherford) Grotevant.

Born in Walton, New York, he was the son of Leroy and Wanda (Sprague) Grotevant. He graduated from Walton Central School and the Ohio Institute of Technology.

Jim was a computer engineer for Cherokee Pharmaceuticals. He was past president of the Barrett Youth Association and coached basketball, football, and baseball. A member of the Pocono Mountain East Boys Basketball Booster Club, Jim was instrumental in designing and maintaining their website.

In addition to his wife, Nancy, he is survived by two sons, Justin and Dylan, both of Canadensis; sister, Sandy Paulino of Bronx, NY; father-in-law, Richard Rutherford of Walton, NY; sister-in-law, Ann LePinnet of Walton, NY; and several nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 1 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Bolock Funeral Home, corner of Routes 940 & 390 in Paradise Valley. Graveside service will take place on Wednesday, June 2 at 1 PM at the Walton Cemetery.
