IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Joan A.
Elmore
December 11, 1929 – July 27, 2013
Joan Alton Elmore passed away peacefully on July 27, 2013 at UHS Delaware Valley Hospital.
On December 1, 1929 she was born in Dolgeville, Wisconsin, the daughter of the late Byron and Ocea (Jeffrey) Alton. On May 16, 1953, she united in everlasting love with Ed Elmore; a loving and devoted marriage of over 60 years.
Joan was a member of the Truman C. Tobey Post #32 Woman's Auxiliary. She loved to bowl and crochet "projects" for her grandchildren. Joan enjoyed playing pitch and traveling across- country for leisure and watching her grandchildren's Military achievements, sports games, and school activities. Joan was a woman who truly devoted her life to caring for and loving her family. She enjoyed baking goods for them and was always there to be GRANDMA.
Joan is survived by her loving family: her husband, Ed; daughter Constance and husband Bob Gransbury, of Walton; son Jeffrey Elmore of Walton; brother Philip and Lois Alton, of Linden, WI; grandchildren Jason MacDonald, of Oneonta; Jeremy MacDonald and his wife Amy, of Maryland; Justin MacDonald and girlfriend Kendra Collier of Albany; Ashlee Gransbury and boyfriend Anthony D'Angelo, of Walton; great-grandchildren Montgomery MacDonald and Blaze D'Angelo; sister-in-laws Flo Alton, of Madison, WI and Bonnie McCall, of Walton; nephews Lynn and Matt McCall, of Walton. Joan is predeceased by three sisters and one brother.
Joan's family would like to offer a special thank you to Dr. Michael Freeman and all of the wonderful staff at UHS Delaware Valley Hospital who gave their attention and love to Joan while she was a patient there. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Walton EMS, 61 West St., Walton, NY 13856 or Enhance DVH, 1 Titus Place, Walton, NY 13856.
Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
