Joan Delores Marangi of Walton NY, formerly of Ridgewood NJ passed away peacefully in Lake Placid Florida on May 21, 2011. She was born on Nov. 5th, 1937 in Trenton NJ. the daughter of the late Andrew and Margaret Gorish Smajda.

Joan was employed for the Stamford Village Court as court clerk. She was a member of the Walton Fire Dept. and EMS and also the Southern Tier Chapter of the American Red Cross.

Joan is survived by the love of her life Dick DuMond of Walton NY, her 3 children Michael Marangi of Cape Coral Fl, Lisa Marangi of Ridgewood NJ, and Michele Ring of Wychoff NJ. and her grandchildren, Collin Brotherton, Danelle Brotherton, David Ring, Savannah Ring, Olivia Ring, Elizabeth Ring, several cousins.

Joan was predeceased by her parents Andrew & Margaret Smajda, and her son Kerry Marangi.

Friends and relatives are invited to call on Saturday morning, May 28, 2011 from 9 to 11 AM at the Courtney Funeral Home, 25 Townsend St., Walton, NY, where services will be held at 11 AM with the Rev. Edward Golding, officiating.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday morning, May 31, 2011 at 10:45 AM at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 1 Passaic St., Ridgewood, New Jersey. Burial will follow in George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus, NJ.
