On Sunday, March 19, 2023, Joan Beverly (Corgill) Zorda of Walton NY, beloved mother of two and grandmother of three, passed away at age 77. She died from complications after a short battle with cancer, surrounded by family.

Joan grew up in Downsville, NY and spent much of her life in Walton with her husband Frank Zorda who pre-deceased her. Together they owned and operated the Walton Motel for 13 years. She later kept herself very busy helping numerous families in the Walton area with house cleaning, pet sitting, and providing assistance for those who were home bound. She became very close with many of her clients and was a trusted lifeline and supporter right up until her illness in December 2022.

Joan was known for her warmth, humor, generosity, and ability to strike up a conversation with anyone. She had many dear friends, and she loved creating family traditions. Christmas was the highlight of the year and she always made it lively, fun and special, with questions about gifts usually starting in July. She was a bright light in the lives of everyone she touched. She is survived by her two sons, Mark (Matthew Cairns) Wier of Hurley, NY, and Todd (Cynthia) Wier of Norwich NY and their children Allison, Owen and Parker.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 27, 2023 from 1PM to 3PM at her home, 26 Stockton Avenue, Walton, New York.
