JoAnn Bailey, 67, of Walton, passed away unexpectedly early Friday morning, April 25, 2014 at Mountainside Residential Care Center in Margaretville.

JoAnn was born on January 4, 1947 in Norwich, the daughter of the late Harold and Margaret (Adams) Franklin. She was a graduate of the Sherburne-Earlville Central School. She married Robert W. Bailey Sr. on December 16, 1989 in Walton. He died on November 8, 2010. She was employed for many years as a babysitter for the ARC Shelter Workshop.

JoAnn was most known for her purse collection and love for her stuffed animals. She had a joyful personality and would talk to anyone she came into contact with. She also loved playing BINGO and when she won, everyone knew immediately, and cheered her on.

She is survived by her children Jason Lykens; of Richford, NY and Chris Lykens; of Azle, Texas; sisters; Theresa Yeager and Diane Moore; and by her half-brother Bill Franklin.

Friends and relatives are invited to call on Tuesday, April 29, 2014 from 11 AM to 1 PM at the Courtney Funeral Home, Walton, where services will be held at 1:00 pm with Mother Suzanne Cole, officiating. Burial will follow in Walton Cemetery.
