Joanne M. Johnson, 58, a lifelong resident of Walton passed away on Thursday, October 4, 2012 at home, surrounded by her family.

Joanne was born on November 8, 1953 in Walton the daughter of the late Clair R. and Earline (Jenkins) Gray, Jr. She married Ralph K. Johnson at the Northfield Church in Walton. He died in 2005.

Joanne worked for many years at Countryside Care Center as an Aide. In her spare time she enjoyed doing crafts, working in her flower beds, playing Yahtzee with Sandra and Bonnie, traveling with Art Cash, and Vi Eskow, and of course spending time with her grandchildren.

Joanne is survived by her loving family, her children, Dwayne (Jennifer) Johnson of Walton; Lance (Rachel) Johnson of Oneonta; Joseph (Kelly) Johnson of Walton; Charles Johnson of Florida; her grandchildren, Josh, Garrett, and Shay, her special sisters, Penny and Donald Stanton of Arkansas; Debra (James) Constable of Trout Creek; Robin (Ed) Sprague of Walton, Kathy Kelsey and Jackie (Willard) Cole both of Tennessee; Terrina (Rob) Latourette of Oneonta; her close special friends; Bonnie Jennings of Florida and Vi Eskow of Walton; Art and Holly Cash of Walton; Aunt Dora Curtain of Walton; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A graveside service will be held 11:00 AM on Wednesday, October 10 at Walton Cemetery, 55 Fancher Avenue, Walton, with the Rev. Bert More officiating.
