John S. Davis III 38 of Walton, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 20, 2011, following a long illness.

John was born in Walton on July 17, 1973 the son of John and Loretta (Tweedie) Davis Jr. He was employed at Sabastian's in Oneonta, retiring due to illness.

John enjoyed camping, video games, and hanging out with his neices, nephews and cousins. He was of the protestant faith.

John is survived by his parents, John and Loretta of Walton; sister Jennifer (Darren Forkey Sr.) Davis, Walton; nieces and nephews, Adam Forkey, Mass.; Shawn Forkey, Darren Forkey Jr., and Alexandria Forkey all of Maine; aunts and uncles; Thelma and Jerry Brown, Arvella and Harland Goodrich, Joyce Tweedie, and George Neale, all of Walton; Robert Church, Stella White both of Delhi; special friends, Mayra, Travis and Rodney Crowell, Oneonta; Peggy, Eric, and Joey Travis, Walton; Mark, Maxine, Kyle, and Alyssa McNeil, Walton; Bob and Tonia Bojo Beers, and Tonia Boecke, both of Walton and many cousins. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Horton A. and Florence Tiffany Tweedie and John and Frannie Bakker Davis Sr., aunts and uncles, "Stub" Tweedie, Marjorie Church, Phillis Tweedie Neale, and Roger Davis.

Friends and relatives are invited to call on Monday, October 24, 2011 from 11 AM to 1 PM at the New Hope Community Church, 47 Stockton Ave., Walton where services will be held at 1 PM. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery, Hancock. Memorial contributions in John's memory may be made to New Hope Community Church.
