John McGonigle, 82, of Walton, passed away on Wednesday morning, June 15, 2022 at Delhi Rehabilitation and Nursing Home in Delhi following a long illness.

John was born on December 6, 1939 in New York City, New York. He married the former Concetta Quartuccio on January 24, 1959, she predeceased him on January 24, 2013.

John was a diesel mechanic for Delwood in Walton, he also worked in Oneonta Public Transit and the ARC in Hamden. In his spare time he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and working on models. He was a member of the Walton Vets Club, Club Royal Oasis. He attended the Pines Brook Community Church.

John is survived by his family, his children, John and Scott McGonigle, grandchildren, Jody, Hunter, and Bailey, special friends, Ruth and Ken Utter and family, all of Walton, and his sister, Ann Sherman of Long Island. He was predeceased by his wife and brother Robert McGonigle.

Friends and family are invited to call on Monday, June 20, 2022 from 11AM to 12Noon at Courtney Funeral Home, 25 Townsend Street, Walton where services will be held at 12 Noon with Pastor Bob Wilkie, officiating.
