John C. Offnick, 56 of Walton, passed away Monday evening, March 10, 2008 unexpectedly in Delaware Valley Hospital.

John was born in Walton on May 9, 1951, the son of the late John A. and Helena Mueller Offnick. He was a graduate of Walton Central School, class of 1969. He was also a graduate of Tri State University, Angola, Indiana; majoring in mechanical engineering. On September 26, 1970 he married the former Diana Storrer in Chesterfield, South Carolina. He was employed by Alpha-Laval, Warminister, Pennsylvania as facilities manager, retiring in 2004. He was a member of The American Society of Mechanical Engineers, ASME. John loved riding snowmobiles and motorcycles, downhill skiing, playing in the dirt with his excavating equipment, tinkering in his garage, but most of all Grandpa John loved spending time with his grandchildren.

John is survived by his loving wife, Diana, one daughter, Jessica (Michael) DelBalso of Walton, two sons: Jeffrey (Summer) Offnick of Walton, NY, Christopher Offnick of Quakertown, PA

4 grandchildren, Allison and Jarrett Offnick, and Liliana and Annaliese DelBalso, two sisters, Joan VanLoan, Beatrice (Robert) Yeomans both of Walton, several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends and relatives are invited to call on Thursday evening, March 13, 2008 from 6 to 8 PM at the Clark, Winter & Courtney Funeral Home, 25 Townsend St., Walton, NY. Funeral services will be held on Friday morning, March 14, 2008 at 11 AM at the New Hope Community Church, 45 Stockton Ave., Walton; with the Rev. Larry Light, officiating. Interment will be in Walton Cemetery. Memorial contributions in John's memory may be made to Walton Volunteer Fire Dept. & EMS, 59-61 West Street, Walton, NY 13856.
