Obituary

John V. Rocher, 89, of Walton passed away on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at home, following a long illness.

John was born on October 27, 1927 in Carmel, NY the son of the late John Rocher and Emma (Mantovi) Rocher Felicetti. He proudly served his country in the U. S. Navy as a Seabee during WWII. On August 25, 1973 he married Peggy (Phillips) Gribble in Walton. She predeceased him on October 28, 2007.

John was an Operating Engineer for Local #825 in Springfield Township, New Jersey before retiring. He enjoyed spending time with his family, going to the beach, camping, and hunting. He was an avid golfer, scoring a hole in one at age 75.

John was known for his deep faith and love of his Lord and Savior. He was a regular attendee of the New Hope Community Church, Walton.

John is survived by his loving family, children, Laura (John) Bair of Walton; Susan (Dennis) McLean of Breckenridge, CO; Tami (Brian) Lacey of Walton; Diane (Eric) Patterson of Mount Upton; Dan (Ruth) Gribble of Kearneysville, West Virginia; grandchildren, Eric, Anna, Aaron, Brandi, Bobby, Michael and Samantha, several great grandchildren, sister, Linda (Jon) Hoffman of Walton; sister in law, Jeannine Felicetti, Delray Beach, FL; nephews, Jon Michael (Nicole) Hoffman of Walton; David (Emma) Hoffman of Witcha Falls, TX; Steven (Gayle) Felicetti of FL; niece, Lisa (Will) Quick of FL; and several cousins. John was predeceased by his step-father, Armando Felicetti Sr., and his brother, Armando Felicetti Jr.

Relatives and friends are invited to call on August 19, 2017 from 9 AM to 11 AM at the New Hope Community Church, 45 Stockton Avenue, Walton where services will be held at 11 AM with Pastor Larry Light, officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow in the Walton Cemetery, Walton. Arrangements are with Courtney Funeral Home, Walton.
