John A. Sosa, 57, of Walton passed away unexpectedly on Sunday March 1, 2015 at Albany Medical Center in Albany, following a long illness.

John was born on September 13, 1957 in Manhattan, the son of the late Juan and Olga (Llarrazza) Sosa. On January 5, 2003 he married the former Lori Blake.

John worked in Bridge Maintenance for the NYS Dept. of Transportation in Bainbridge, NY and as a truck driver for NYS in Walton, NY. He was a member of the CSEA. He played drums, in the band "The Gremlins."

John enjoyed tinkering on old trucks and cars especially his 56 Chevy Truck. He also enjoyed camping in the Adirondacks at Lake Champlain and Rollins Pond, and spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren. He also enjoyed family cookouts where he was known as the "BBQ King".

John is survived by his loving family, his wife, Lori, his children, Mellissa Jester of Bloomville, NY; Devon Sosa of Norfolk, VA.; Kassandra Sosa of Walton, NY; his grandchildren, Juan and Barrett, his brother, Robert Munoz of Miami, FL., his sister, Ava Tong of FL; his mother-in-law, Alice Blake-Coates and sister and brother in law Helen and George Scheuerman all of Warwick, NY and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his brother in law, Ronald Blake and father-in-law, Clayton Blake .

A memorial service will be held at a later date to be announced. Arrangements are with Courtney Funeral Home, Walton.
