John M. Van Buren 43 of Mt. Upton passed away at home after a long illness.

John was born in Walton on February 7, 1964 the son of Robert Van Buren and Anna Church. John was a graduate of Unatego Schools. He was employed by Amphenol, Sidney as a machinist.

John liked riding snowmobiles, motorcycles, hunting, fishing and growing vegetables and flowers.

John is survived by his father, Robert (Wanda) Van Buren of Walton, his mother, Anna Church, Oneonta., 2 brothers, William (Bernadette) Van Buren, Mt. Upton; David (Kathy) Van Buren, Roanoak, Va; 4 sisters, Debora Van Buren and her husband, Gary Landue; Katrina (John) Loney, Indianapolis; Kristina Van Buren, Mississippi, Danielle Church, Pennsylvania; step sister, Janallee (William ) Dwojakowski, Schenectady; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by a brother Donald Charles Church II.

Friends and family are invited to call at the Clark, Winter & Courtney Funeral Home 25 Townsend St., Walton on Thursday, July 5, 2007 from 12 to 2 PM. A Graveside Service will follow at Walton Cemetery on Thursday at 2:30 PM, with the Rev. Tom Ballard, officiating.
