Joseph F. Carpentier, 91, of Walton passed away on Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at the N.Y. State Veterans Home in Oxford, NY.
Joseph was born on May 20, 1922 in Salem, New Hampshire, the son of the late Salvatore and Frances (Luresto) Carpentier. On November 29, 1943 he married the former Leonora Tata. She died on May 19, 2007. Joseph proudly served his country in the U. S. Army Air Corps during WW II in the far east during the China offensive . He was employed by Mack Truck, Waterbury, Connecticut as Service Manager.
Joseph is survived by his loving family, his daughter, Carol Santopietro of Waterbury, CT., his son, "Skip" and Cindy Carpentier of Walton, his grandchildren, John Santopietro, Marie (Jeff) Courtemanche, Kelly (Brian) Banks, Michael and Dana Carpentier, his great grandchildren, Ronan, Helena, Xander and Alexandra, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his great grandson, Owen Banks, one brother, Charles, three sisters, Rose, Anna & Sandy.
A graveside service with Full Military Honors will be held at 1 PM on May 19, 2014 at Walton Cemetery.
