December 25, 1935 – March 30, 2006
Joseph J. Caruso, 70 of Walton, passed away Thursday evening, March 30,2006 at Delaware Valley Hospital, with his family by his side, after a short illness.
Joe was born in Walton on December 25, 1935, the son of the late Jack and Marion Allen Caruso On January 1,1957 he married the former Joan M. McAdams at the Walton Baptist Church. He was a graduate of Walton Central School. He served his country in the US Air Force from 1954 to 58. He was employed first for the O & W Railroad, then at the Reporter Company as a linotype operator and later for Amphenol, as a security guard, retiring in 1991. Joe was a former member of the Walton Fire Dept. and presently an honorary member.
Joe loved to hunt and fish, he also enjoyed NASCAR racing and particulary loved the Pittsburg Steelers winning the Super Bowl this year. But most of all he loved his grandaughters, Brittany and Candice who will miss their "Poppy" very much.
He is survived by his wife; Joan M. Caruso, one son Timothy Caruso, and his wife Brenda of Walton: 2 grandchildren, Brittany and Candice; one sister, Mary and her husband, Gene May of Fishs Eddy; one brother Michael Caruso and his wife Sandy of Walton; brother-in-laws, Ronnie and Dema McAdams, Bill & Doris McAdams, of Walton; sister-in-laws Bonnie and John MacDonald, and Denise Caruso of Sands Creek, several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was predeceased by 3 brothers, Raymond, John, and Edward Caruso; and a sister, Gloria Brezee.
Friends and relatives are invited to call on Sunday afternoon, April 2, 2006, from 1 to 2 PM at the Clark, Winter & Courtney Funeral Home, 25 Townsend St, Walton, where services will be held at 2 PM with the Rev. Dr. James F. Martin, Officiating.
Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
