Joseph J. Cermak, 86, a resident of Hamden passed away on Sunday evening, August 26, 2012 at home, surrounded by his family.
Joe was born in Chechoslovakia, on May 1, 1926 the son of the late Joseph and Theresa (Karpcharzatova) Cermak. On September 7, 1952 he married the former Joan Annis in Queens.
Joseph worked for US Dynamics in Amityville as a Precision Machinist. Following retirement he and Joan moved to their home in Hamden. He was a member of the Hamden Fish & Game Club. In his spare time he liked to target practice, being outdoors, going camping, and going to the beach.
Joe is survived by his loving family, his wife of 60 years, Joan, his children, Jorge Cermak of FL; Jaynee (Earl) Colella of PA; his grandchildren, Jerry (Laura)Cermak, Misty(Kevin)Ganoe, Jason, Jerry, Joseph, Christian, Jennifer, several great grandchildren, his brother, Mickey Cermak of Vancouver, Canada; his special niece, Patricia Pati, his special friend, Farah Mills, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his son and daughter in law, Jerry and Carol Cermak, his sister in law, Helen Pati, and a grandson, Earl Colella.
Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
