Obituary

Josephine Barnes, formerly of Beers Brook, passed away Monday evening, February 2, 2009 in Countryside Care Center, Delhi.

Josephine was born in South Kortright, the daughter of the late Michael and Eva O'Blinsky. She married Earl J. Barnes. He died in 1992. She was a homemaker and helped on the family farm in Beerston. She was a former member of the Walton Democratic Club, Christ Episcopal Church and its Ladies Guild, and Zion Episcopal Church, Windsor.

Josephine enjoyed crochet, gardening and entering her pies in the Delaware County Fair.

Josephine is survived by her daughter, Cindy (Bob) DeMarmels, Harpursville, 2 grandsons, Brian and Kevin, a sister, Anna Baldwin, Utica, sister in law, Dorothy Barnes, Walton; special family, Don, Martha and Edythe Bowker, Walton; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a brother, Joseph O'Blinsky and a sister, Lena Wayman.

Friends and relatives are invited to call on Thursday, February 5, 2009, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM at the Courtney Funeral Home 25 Townsend St., Walton. A Mass of the Resurrection will be held at Christ Episcopal Church, Walton on Friday morning, February 6, 2009 at 11 AM with the Rev. Suzanne Cole, officiating. Interment will be in Ouleout Valley Cemetery, Franklin.
