The Earth's loss is Heaven's gain. Joyce V. Bouw, 96, of Walton, passed away on Friday, May 14, 2021 at Mountainside Residential Care Center in Margaretville.

Born on March 13, 1925, she was a daughter of the late Douglas and Blanche (Mallory) Scudder.

Joyce loved tending to her flower garden and feeding the birds. She was a great quilter and enjoyed her quilting group. Joyce adored any children and even opened her home to help raise six foster kids. Everyone who knew her loved her, and she will be greatly missed.

In 1943, she married Albert Bouw. The two were married for 63 years before he passed in 2006.

Survivors include her children, William Bouw (Chantal), Albert Bouw (Kathy), Robert Bouw (Jean), Virginia Davis (James) and Tina Bouw; ten grandchildren and twenty three great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is predeceased by a son, Richard Bouw who passed in 2013.

A Graveside Service will be held privately and at the convenience of the family at Paige Cemetery in Downsville.
