Joyce R. "Joy" Fisk, 69, of Downsville, passed away Saturday morning, August 3, 2013 at home surrounded by family following a short illness.

Joy was born on June 13, 1944 in Naurashan, NY., the daughter of the late Clayton and Ruth (Henry) Swain. She received her masters from SUNY Albany and taught for several years before devoting her life to her children. She worked side by side with her daughter Amelia in the family tax business for many years. She enjoyed music and sang with the Susquehanna Choir and the Delaware River Stage Co. for their many productions. She was an active member of the Colchester Community Church, serving as Charge treasurer, working with the youth, singing in the choir, and volunteering at their various fundraisers and activities.

Joy loved spending time with her grandchildren Dylan and Stephanie who were the bright lights of her life. She enjoyed attending their school sporting events and activities. She also enjoyed crocheting, musicals, and traveling.

Joy is survived by two daughters: Amelia and Russell Foote of Downsville, Charlene Fisk and Maggie McBride, Atlanta, one son, Harrison and Erin Fisk of San Jose, CA; grandchildren, Dylan and Stephanie, sister Pamela Frieze, Kentucky; and dear friend and sister-in-law, Barbara Swain, South Carolina and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a brother Skip Swain.

Friends are invited to call on Monday afternoon, August 5, 2013 from 3 to 5 PM at the Colchester Community Church, Downsville, where services will be held at 5 PM with the Rev. Dale Ashby, officiating. Burial will be at Florida National Cemetery, at a later date. Arrangements are with Courtney Funeral Home, Walton.
