Joyce C. Griffin, 69, a lifelong resident of Walton, passed away on Tuesday, July 3, 2012 in Johnson City following a long illness.

Joyce was born on April 2, 1943 in the Town of Colchester the daughter of the late Dorr and Isabel (Gray) Church. She was a graduate of Walton Central School the Class of 1961. On February 14, 1964 she married Joseph Griffin in Lawton,Oklahoma.

Joyce was a Group Leader in the shipping department at Breakstone's in Walton for 46 years, retiring just this past June. She also had a ceramic shop, where she taught ceramics as well as it being a gathering place for her many friends.

Joyce is survived by her loving family, her husband, Joseph, her sons, Joel and Jody Griffin of Walton, her grandchildren, Joshua, Jaclyn, and Jarett Griffin, her brothers, Ed (Betty) Church of Las Vegas, Nevada; Ken Church of Walton; Rodney Church of Roscoe; Douglas Church of Las Vegas, Nevada; her sisters, Kaye Miller and Diane (James) Brush both of Hendersonville, TN; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by a daughter, Julie in 1967, her brothers, Robert and Ricky Church, her sisters, Beverly VanHorn, Debbie Budine, and Margaret Church.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, July 9, 2012 at 11 AM at the Walton Cemetery, 55 Fancher Avenue, Walton with the Rev. Bert More, Officiating.
