Julia M. Martin, 79 a life long resident of Trout Creek, passed away Saturday afternoon, October 13, 2007 at home, surrounded by her family.
Julia was born on January 16, 1928 in Trout Creek, the daughter of the late Franklin and Lillie (Barringer) Bush. Julia first was married to Harland Fitch who died on May 10, 1963. She later married Roland Martin who died on December 4, 2002. She was a member of the Trout Creek Fire Dept. Auxiliary, the Trout Creek Community Church, and the "Trout Creek Girls" who met at TA's Place for their monthly birthday celebrations. Julia was a "Domestic Goddess" and homemaker who enjoyed keeping her home immaculate. She also enjoyed watching the Wheel of Fortune and working the Word Search Books.
Julia is survived by 2 sons, David (Susan) Fitch, Unadilla; Richard Fitch, Binghamton; 3 daughters, Colleen (Gary) Burlew, Lowman, NY; Micki (Norm) Stull, Horseheads; Brenda Martin, Glendale; 6 grandsons, Harry & Clifford Fitch, Joshua Burlew, Jeffrey & James Fitch, Michael Bowen, 7 great grand children, David Fitch, Brandon, Dylan,& Jaden Burlew, Olivia Fitch, Joshua & Peyton Bowen; 1 sister, Grace Hoff, Walton; brother and sister in laws, William & Stella Martin, Walton, Pauline Alberta, Ithaca; special friends, Madeline Weirs, Michael & Susan Spaccaforno, all of Trout Creek, several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Julia was predeceased by 3 brothers, Edward, William, and Daniel Bush, and 2 sisters, Annetta Hall and Helen Moore.
Friends and relatives are invited to call on Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 PM at the Trout Creek Community Church where services will follow at 8 PM with the Rev. Kurt Funke, officiating. Burial will be in Walton Cemetery on Thursday. Arrangements are with Clark, Winter & Courtney Funeral Home, Walton.
