Obituary

June Welton, 79 a life long resident of Walton passed away Thursday morning in the Delaware Valley Hospital, after a long illness.

June was born in Walton on July 1, 1925, the daughter of the late Horace and Ellen Smith Schloss. She was educated in local schools. She married Allen E. "Dick" Welton on June 29, 1946, in a double wedding with her twin sister, Jean who married Dick"s brother, Ralph.

June and her husband Dick owned and operated Walton TV Sales and Service.

June was a 60 plus member of the Walton United Presbyterian Church, a charter member of the Ladies auxiliary of the Walton Fire Dept., serving as its president for many years, a Girl Scout troop leader for 11 years, and a former member of the Delaware Lancers Drum and Bugel Corps.

She and her family loved to hunt and fish while camping, she also loved to read, and would "devour" novels sometimes as many as two or three a week. She also enjoyed cross stitching.

June is survived by her loving husband, Dick; 2 children, a daughter Elaine B. Reynolds and her husband William of San Antonio, Texas; a son John T. Welton, of Walton; 3 grandchildren, Michele, Micah, and William H. Reynolds IV; 2 sisters, Marion Pomeroy, and Marjorie Kite, both of Walton; 9 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her twin sister, Jean Welton in 1996.

Friends and family may call at Clark, Winter & Courtney Funeral Home, 25 Townsend St., Walton, on Saturday evening, October 23, 2004 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM.

Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Sunday at the United Presbyterian Church, Walton.

Burial will be in the Walton Cemetery.

Memorial contributions in June's memory may be made to Walton EMS, Countryside Care Center, or the United Presbyterian Church. Envelopes for memorial contributions are available at the funeral home.
