Katherine M. Harrison, 66, of Walton, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, December 6, 2012 at Wilson Memorial Hospital in Johnson City.

Katherine was born on December 3, 1946 in Ogdensburg, NY. the daughter of the late James and Dorothy (Denny) Caloren.

Kathy graduated from Heuvelton Central School in 1965. She returned to Suny Delhi for a degree in Nursing, and graduated in 1987.

Katherine was employed for many years at the Delaware County Infirmary as a nurses aide and then later as an LPN. She also worked on One North at Fox Hospital as a LPN for many years. She loved her residents and the success of getting a surgical patient back on their road to recovery. While in Florida she worked at several nursing facilities and performed private duty care to the elderly.

In her spare time she enjoyed spending time with her only granddaughter, Samantha and watching her play sports. She recently moved back to Walton to be able to spend more time with Samantha. Kathy enjoyed going to the weekly Flea Market in Florida. She loved to go shopping in order to find gifts for her family and friends.She spent many hours reading and she loved taking care of the birds, guinea pigs, cat and dog at her home. They all were given special treats and attention each day. Often there were chats involved what her pets had done recently. Her love for animals was boundless.

Katherine is survived by her children, Michelle & "Mike" Bowker of Walton; Michael Harrison of New York, NY; her sisters, Sandy(Tom) Quigley of CT, Cheryl (David) Monpetit of Ogdensburg her brother, David (Phyllis) Caloren of Bemus Point, NY; her special granddaughter, Samantha Bowker and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. The father of her children Steve Harrison and his wife Darlene of Walton. And special friends Sonia Daly of Oneonta, Carla Green of Walton, Joe Markey of Lecanto, FL, as well as Bruce and Rose Behrens of Florida.

Friends and family are invited to call on Thursday, December 13, 2012 from 6 to 8PM at the Courtney Funeral Home, 25 Townsend Street, Walton, NY, where services will be held at 11 AM on Friday, December 14, 2012 with the Rev. Bert More, Officiating. Burial will be in the Walton Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
