Keith Thomas Schermerhorn, 64, of Walton, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 12, 2022, at the Delhi Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Delhi following a long illness.

Born February 28, 1957, in Troy, NY, he was a son of the late Robert and Marlene Peterson Schermerhorn.

Keith proudly served our country in the Navy from 1975-1976. He worked as the Custodian for the Walton Central Schools for over 18 years. Keith was a man of strong faith and was a longtime member of New Hope Community Church in Walton with his wife Dawn. When Keith was not hard at work, he was known to be an incredible gardener and always loved to help his friends and neighbors in need. He will be greatly missed by all who had the opportunity to know him.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 8 years Dawn Schermerhorn; children Jason Schermerhorn (Tiffany), Alissa Barnhart (Ryan), Kevin Cronin (Lisa) and Kaitlin Titch (Larry); brother Ken Schermerhorn (Vanessa) and sisters Karen Davies (Mark) and Kathy Schermerhorn. Keith is also survived by ten grandchildren.

A service to celebrate Keith's life will be held on Saturday, January 22, 2022, at 11 A.M. at New Hope Community Church, 45 Stockton Avenue, Walton with Pastor Larry Light officiating. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
