Kenneth R. Fuller, 73, of Downsville passed away on Thursday, December 14, 2017 at home surrounded by his family, following a short battle with cancer. Ken was born on June 2, 1944 in Walton, the son of the late Kenneth and Dorothy (Tuttle) Fuller. He was a graduate of Downsville Central School, Class of 1962. He proudly served his country in the U. S. Air Force. He served in Vietnam, during his years in the service he traveled to many different parts of the world working on communication equipment. On April 18, 1970 he married the former Marie Shaw. Ken was the president and owner of KJBL Electronics in Roscoe. He was a member of the Downsville Fire Department where he was past president. In 1991, Ken received the Fireman of the Year. He also was an Instructor for the Hunter Safety Course. He played for the Downsville Baseball town team. Ken enjoyed cheering for the NY Yankees, NY Giants, Syracuse Orange Basketball, and going hunting with his family and friends. Ken was most of all proud of being a grandpa. Ken is survived by his loving family, his wife, Marie, son, Kenneth (Bobbie) Fuller of Hamden; grandchildren, Ashley and Keith, son in law, Jason Box, sister, Rose and William Carvin of TN, brother in law, Reg McClenon of Franklin, Leonard and Susan Shaw of Hamden, Lester and Cheryle Shaw of Milford, Dawn and Mark Cortright of DeLancey, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his daughter, Wendy Box, sister, Louise McClenon, and nephew, Paul Shaw. Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday, December 21, 2017 from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 at the Courtney Funeral Home, 25 Townsend Street, Walton. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, December 23, 2017 at 1 PM at the Colchester Community Church, 15151 State Highway 30, Downsville with Rev. R.L. Donahue, officiating. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at 12:30PM at Paige Cemetery in Downsville, with full military honors.
