Obituary

Kenneth E. Hansen, Sr., 63, of Walton died Friday evening, December 4, 2009 at O'Connor Hospital, Delhi, following a long and courageous battle with cancer.

He was born March 15, 1946 in Freeport, the son of the late Martin B. and Eleanor M. (Warden) Hansen.

Mr. Hansen was married to Georgeen Brundage on October 30, 1965. Georgeen passed away on May 19, 2005, after 39 years of marriage.

Kenneth was employed by the Walton Reporter Co. as a newspaper printer for many years until his retirement

Ken enjoyed photography and was an avid outdoorsman, often fishing, hiking and collecting butterflies. He had the ability to find even the smallest lost item and could always pick out a 4 leaf clover. Ken also was a strong supporter of the Huntington's Disease Society of America.

Besides his wife, Ken was predeceased by an infant son, David in 1967.

He is survived by his children: Kenneth(Jeanette Bush)Hansen Jr. of Guilford, Selinda (Darrin) Boice of Sidney Center and Rain (Rich) Sarrantonio of Walton; eleven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a brother, Robert (Jean) Hansen of Walton; sister, Barbara (Stanley) Stevens of Hobart and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Family and friends may call from 4-6pm on Wednesday, December 9, 2009 at the Courtney Funeral Home, 25 Townsend Street, Walton, were a memorial service will follow at 6:00pm with the Rev. Kirk Darville officiating. Graveside services will be held at 11:00am on Thursday morning, December 10, 2009 at the Walton Cemetery.

The family would like to invite everyone to the Harby Center at New Hope Community Church, Stockton Ave for a reception immediately following the service at the cemetery.
