Kevin M. Dugan, 55 of Rochester and formerly of Hamden passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, April 18, 2015 in Hamden.
Kevin was born on June 20, 1959 in Brooklyn, NY the son of the late John and Dolores Dugan. He lived on Long Island until he moved to Gregorytown, NY in 1974. He graduated from Downsville Central in 1977. He proudly served his country in the U. S. Navy for 6 years then resided in San Diego until 1992. Kevin moved back to Delaware County where he worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant at the Countryside Care Center until he moved to Rochester in 2000 where he continued working in the same profession.
Kevin was especially fond of all of his nieces and nephews, his sister Tracy's daycare children, his many crazy cousins, and the family he created for himself wherever he lived.
Kevin was an avid reader and he was sure one day he would win the lottery or Publishers Clearing House. He was a good friend to all that knew him and he lived life to the fullest.
Kevin came from an extremely large family and always managed to make it home for special events.
Kevin is survived by his loving family, his siblings; Tom (Sue) Dugan of Islip, NY; Karen (Tom) Porcelli of Oakdale, NY; Donna Butler of Walton, NY; Peg (Rich) Gancio of Walton; Tim Dugan of Delhi, NY; Dennis (Lori) Dugan of Oneonta, NY; Tracy Dugan and Don Ford of Hamden, NY; Patrick Dugan of Rochester, NY; AnnMarie (Fran) Pardee of South Kortright, NY; and his sister in law; Cathy Dugan of Shirley, NY. His nieces and nephews; Melissa, John, Kelly, Ali, Cari, Michele, Denise, Jeremy, Kimberly, Jessica, Richard, Amy, Mallory, Tyler, Elizabeth, Adrianna, Ethan, Aiden, Jamie, Thomas, Molly, Katie and Carli, as well as many great nieces and nephews and friends. His grandsons, Christopher, Jon, Zach, his best friend, Bonnie, and her daughters, Richelle, and Dawn Struczewki, and his friend, Dave Contreras. He was predeceased by his parents, Dolores and John, his step father, David Smart, and his brother, John Dugan.
Relatives and friends are invited to call on Friday, April 24, 2015 at the Courtney Funeral Home, 25 Townsend Street, Walton from 3PM to 5PM where a memorial service will be held at 5:00PM with the Rev. Bert More, officiating. A Celebration of Life will be held immediately following at the Vets Club in Delhi. All are welcome to join the family to share a story or memory.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2015 at 2PM at the Gregorytown Cemetery in Downsville with Full Military Honors.
Memorial Contributions in memory of Kevin may be made by donating a book to a child or a child's organization.
