Obituary

Kyle Brian Early, 58, of Downsville passed away Thursday, March 6, 2014 surrounded by his family in the comfort of his home.

Born on June 2, 1955 in Hancock NY, Kyle was the son of the late Loren and Arretta Early. Kyle married Elizabeth Reiver on August 8, 1978 at the Holy Family Roman Catholic Church in Downsville, NY where they raised a loving family consisting of three sons, Joshua, Erik, and Loren Early.

Kyle was a caring father and a well-respected, kind man who enjoyed his profession as a heavy equipment operator and mechanic. He was renowned in and around Downsville for his abilities in the various bluestone quarries. While he enjoyed his work, he loved spending time with his family and friends, and was always on call for them. He enjoyed riding his 1975 FLH with his friends and family and was as noted for his Harley Davidson prowess as his heavy equipment operation and maintenance. Along with his passion for motorcycles he enjoyed building scale train layouts, riding and restoring vintage Arctic Cat snowmobiles, radio controlled cars and taking cross country road trips with his family. One of Kyle's dreams was to drive to the west coast and see the Pacific Ocean. A few weeks ago Kyle and Betty drove out to California so that he could put his toes into the Pacific Ocean, visiting family and friends along the way. A staunch patriot and supporter of the U. S. Constitution, Kyle was a proud believer in the original American Dream of Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of happiness. He made it a point to instill these same ideals in all three of his sons.

Kyle is survived by his loving family including, his wife Betty, his sons, Joshua and Tiffany Early of Milford, PA., Erik Early and Angela Rider of Trumansburg, NY; Loren Early of Downsville, NY; his brothers, Craig Early of Downsville; Curtis and Kayla Early of Detroit, MI; his grandsons, Aidan and Chase Early, his nephews, Brandon and Aaron Early, and several other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Friends and family are invited to call on Saturday, March 15, 2014 from 11 AM to 12 PM at the Courtney Funeral Home, 25 Townsend Street, Walton, where services will be held at 12 Noon with the Rev. Dale Ashby and Rev. Edward J. Golding, officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Cancer Society, 5 Oak St., Sidney, New York 13838 or Catskill Area Hospice, 1 Birchwood Drive, Oneonta, NY 13820.
