Lauren G. Pettit, 87, of Walton passed away on Thursday, May 18, 2017 at home.

Lauren was born on February 24, 1930 in Norwich, the son of the late Clifford and Ella Pettit. On January 21, 1950 he married the former Ladean Bush. She died on March 9, 2016.

Lauren was a Truck Driver for 30 plus years working for various companies, and he was a Craftsman at S.J. Bailey's in Walton. Lauren loved to build things especially bird houses, sit on the porch, and loved mowing his lawn. Although he was known for many positive things, he was best known as a hard worker and the most honest man anyone could ever meet.

Lauren is survived by his loving family, his children, Glenda (Tom) Newell of TN; Lauren Jr. (Cathy) Pettit of Walton; Doreen Neidig of Walton; Gary (Debra) Pettit of Walton; Stacie (Tom) Gilbert of Walton; Allan (Jackie)Pettit of Walton; Barbara Pettit of Phoenix, AZ; grandchildren, Dawn, Trina, Tommy, Laurie, Randy, Travis, Christy, Ashley, Jeremy, Sonia, Gary, Jr., April, Hope, Nicki, Jessica, Sylvia, Canyon, Liam, Jade, Jewell, 32 great grandchildren, 6 great great grandchildren with one on the way, sister in law, Joanie Palmer of Norwich, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his daughter, Vickie Pettit, grandson, Corey Neidig, son in law, Lynn Neidig, brother, Keith Pettit, sister, Winnie Landers.

A family gathering on Sunday, May 28, 2017 will be held at 1 PM at Lauren and Ladean's home, 480 Beers Brook Rd., Walton to celebrate their lives and all are welcome to join in. Arrangements are with Courtney Funeral Home, Walton.
